Curry received the award for the best record breaking performance for his historic long-rang shooting during the Warriors record 73-9 regular season run.
On the year, Curry hit on a record 402 of the 886 3-pointers he attempted.
"We had a great year, we got beat by a great team," Curry said in his acceptance speech.
However, the year came to a disappointing end after Golden State had a 3-games-to-1 lead in the NBA Finals slip away and eventually lost to the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers.
James was named the best male athlete, best NBA player and shared the award with his teammates for the best sports team.
