Crozier Fire evacuations lifted outside of fire's footprint as containment increases
EL DORADO COUNTY – All evacuations issued for the Crozier Fire were lifted outside of the fire's perimeter on Tuesday, officials said.
The fire started just after 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 8, northwest of Slate Mountain in the Eldorado National Forest.
Cal Fire reports that the fire remains at 1,938 acres with containment now up to 68% as of Wednesday morning.

The fire is burning in a remote area with heavy timber and thick brush.
As of Monday, crews said the fire was smoldering and crews are mopping up hot spots.
The Placerville airport was closed for multiple days but reopened on Wednesday.
Exactly what started the fire is under investigation, Cal Fire says.
Crozier Fire evacuation orders
Several evacuation orders and warnings were in effect, but five days after the fire started, evacuations were lifted except for the area within the fire's footprint. Residents can check the evacuations on Cal Fire's incident page.
