Crews Battling 183-Acre Grass Fire Near I-680 Between Fairfield And Benicia
SOLANO COUNTY (CBS13) – Firefighters are working to contain a 183-acre vegetation fire in unincorporated Solano County Wednesday afternoon, Cal Fire officials said.
Crews have been battling the grass fire in Solano County between Fairfield and Benicia since late Wednesday morning, according to CBS Sacramento.
According to California Highway Patrol, the fire is off of Lopes Road, near Marshview Road. The fire is believed to have started on the right shoulder of Interstate 680, then moved west.

As a result of the fire, Lopes Road is closed between Marshview and Parish roads.
Cal Fire said the so-called Marshview Fire has burned about 80 acres as of about 12:30 p.m. The size had increased to over 180 acres shortly before 3 p.m., but crew had increased containment to 40 percent.
