COVID: Outbreak at Santa Rita Jail Leads to Suspension of In-Person Visits
DUBLIN (CBS SF) -- A spike in COVID cases in recent days has prompted officials at Santa Rita Jail to suspend all in-person jail visits.
According to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, 10 inmates and 12 staff members have tested positive for COVID as of Saturday.
It's unclear when the jail will resume in-person visits, according to officials.
Since the pandemic began, over 620 inmates have tested positive at the jail, along with 139 staffers and contractors.
