Concord Pavilion To Get Multi-Million Dollar Makeover Before 2014 Concert Season
CONCORD (CBS SF) -- The Concord Pavilion is getting a major facelift just in time for the 2014 concert season.
The renovations of architect Frank Gehry's original 1975 design include new lights, new landscaping, new signage, a new art installation and improved acoustics. The main entrance, plazas lawn, seats and backstage areas will also undergo dramatic updates in an effort to enhance the experience for Pavilion customers and performers alike.
The multi-million dollar project is scheduled to be completed before the first concert on May 25th.
"We can't wait for the artists and fans who've visited the venue before to see the refreshing changes and improvements that we've made," said Matt Prieshoff, Chief Operating Officer for Live Nation California.
The 2014 concert season kicks off with KBLX's Stone Soul Concert. Other concerts scheduled for this summer include performances by James Taylor, OneRepublic, and Linkin Park.
