Colin Kaepernick Featured On Time Magazine Cover

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) – San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's decision not to stand for the national anthem is front and center in this week's issue of Time Magazine.

A kneeling Kaepernick is shown on the cover, titled "The Perilous Fight," from a line in "The Star Spangled Banner."

This week's magazine explores how protest is "fueling a debate about privilege, pride and patriotism."

The quarterback said he is refusing to stand for the national anthem to protest racial injustice and recent police killings, which has led to passionate responses from all sides. Other NFL players and athletes at all levels, including high school, are following Kaepernick's lead by kneeling during the anthem.
