Sore Shoulder May Keep Kaepernick Sidelined For Sunday's Pre-Season Opener
SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- The team called it a "rest day" but it was apparently more than just that for quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who missed his second-straight practice session Friday, complaining of soreness in the shoulder of his throwing arm.
His status for the Niners pre-season opener Sunday is very much in doubt, with QB Blaine Gabbert likely to start against the Texans at Levi's Stadium.
Kaepernick is in a competition with Gabbert for the starter job.
The game will be televised on KPIX 5 Sunday, Aug., 14. The pre-game broadcast begins at 3:30 p.m. with kickoff at 4 o'clock.
