CHP Investigates Fatal Shooting On Hwy 80 On-Ramp

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Investigators are looking for someone who shot and killed a man who was found dead on an on-ramp to Interstate Highway 80 in Richmond early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man in his 30s was found partially on the shoulder of the Hilltop Drive on-ramp to eastbound Highway 80 at about 12:30 a.m., CHP spokesman Officer John Fransen said.

He was shot several times, Fransen said.

No vehicle was found nearby and the on-ramp was closed for about seven hours while officers investigated the scene, he said.
