California State Senator Visits Texas To Recruit Companies For Move West
AUSTIN, Tex. (CBS SF) - A California politician is turning the tables on Texas officials who have been trying to steal California jobs.
California State Senator Ted Gaines visited the Austin Monday, hoping to keep California in the running fro a massive Tesla Motors battery plant that could be headed to the Lone Star State.
"We're here to invite jobs from Texas to California. We are a state of innovators and entrepreneurs and job creators," Gains said while standing outside the Capitol Building.
Gaines was set to hold meetings with businesses to discuss the benefits of doing business in California vs. Texas.
The move counters visits by Texas Governor Rick Perry, who has been trying for years to lure California employers to Texas.
