California Ballot Initiative Aims To Force Legislators To Wear Sponsor Logos On Sleeves

SACRAMENTO (KPIX 5) -- A ballot initiative aims to let you know who is sponsoring legislators in Sacramento.

"It will require all of our state legislators to wear the logos of their top 10 ten sponsors," John Cox of CaliforniaIsNotForSale.com said.

It takes about a million dollars, give or take, to win a seat in the State Assembly or Senate. That means they have to raise more than $1,000 a day for the two years between elections.

"We want to call attention to a corrupt, broken, and stupid system," Cox said.

Signature gathering will start Friday. Cox will need more than 350,000 signatures.
