Crews Get Upper Hand On Napa County Brush Fire South Of Lake Berryessa
NAPA (CBS SF) -- Cal Fire units appear to have gained some control of a brush fire in a remote area of Napa County south of Lake Berryessa, according to authorities.
A nearby family camp, the R-Ranch At The Lake, was being evacuated, according to Cal Fire.
Smoke from the vegetation fire on Capell Valley Road (CA Highway 128) was visible on the Mount Vaca camera at around 3:15 p.m.
The fire had reportedly grown to 3-5 acres as of around 3:30 p.m. There are ground units and air support in route to help battle the fire.
Video shot by Chopper 5 at around 4 p.m. showed crews getting the upper hand on the fire with no flames visible and considerably reduced smoke. Officials had not offered any information on acreage or containment.
