Brentwood shooting leaves man injured, multiple people detained

BRENTWOOD -- Brentwood police arrested an 18-year-old woman they believe shot and wounded a man Thursday night.

Police said the shooting happened at approximately 8:44 p.m. on Sand Creek Road, east of Stoney Creek Drive.

Following the shooting, individuals fled to a home in the 100 block of Brush Creek Drive, which was where police found them.

Officers detained six people related to the incident, recovered a firearm and arrested the alleged shooter, Ty'jae Dukes from Brentwood.

Dukes was booked into the Contra Costa County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

Police said Friday afternoon the victim remained hospitalized and is expected to recover.
