Sen. Boxer Pays Off NBA Finals Bet With 'Walk Of Shame'
WASHINGTON (CBS SF) -- California Senator Barbara Boxer looked understandably glum Wednesday as she made good on her NBA Finals bet with Ohio
Senator Sherrod Brown.
As is traditional with most sports championships, city officials in the Bay Area and Cleveland as well as state representatives for California and Ohio wagered on the outcome of the bruising seven game NBA Finals series between the Warriors and the Cavaliers.
Ohio legislators look to be making out nicely after Sunday's outcome in favor of the Cavs, with senators and representatives set to receive payments in wine, Peet's Coffee, Ghirardelli chocolate and -- for Boxer's part -- beer from San Leandro's 21st Amendment Brewery.
Brown, who Boxer had deliver his payoff last year following the Warriors' victory in the 2015 NBA Finals wearing a Golden State jersey, was obviously ready to relish his moment in the sun.
Brown's Twitter account posted a photo on Monday that was addressed to the California senator.
Proving she's a good sport, on Wednesday, Boxer responded on Twitter with her own post wearing a LeBron James jersey.
No word from Capitol Hill so far if the payoffs of Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Bay Area lawmakers Rep. Barbara Lee, Rep. Jim DeSaulnier and Rep. Jared Hufman will also be documented.
