Black Bear Captured After Roaming Monterey Streets

MONTEREY (KPIX 5) -- The city of Monterey was busy dealing with a curious bear in the streets Sunday.

The black bear, estimated to weigh 250 pounds was spotted roaming around a residential neighborhood.

People were told to stay inside their homes while animal control tranquilized it.

Wildlife officials planned to check out the bear, and return it to the wild.
