10 Biggest Upcoming Events At Levi's Stadium That Don't Involve The 49ers

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) - You've been hearing about Levi's Stadium for months, but it'll likely cost you hundreds to check out the new home of the 49ers for a regular season game this year. Lucky for you the complex is not just the new home of one of the NFL's most storied franchises, it's a perfect showcase for all kinds of major events. Here's a look at the top events at Levi's that don't involve the 49ers. Warning, some of these are none too cheap either.

Friday Night Lights - August 29th.
Under the Lights of Levi's some lucky high school ballplayerers will get to live out their NFL fantasy, playing on the same field as the Niners. Organizers are kicking off a tradition of hosting high school matchups between local programs in a good old fashioned doubleheader format. On August 39th, Wilcox High will take on Manteca and Jesuit of Sacramento will play local power De La Salle in the nightcap. Youth tickets $5, adults $20.

Mexico Vs. Chile - September 6th
If you've been going through World Cup withdrawals ever since Germany took home the trophy this game might be just what you need. Mexico played an inspiring tournament, let by the spectacular play of goalie Guillermo Ochoa and Chile lived up to their billing as a fun to watch attacking club with the ability to compete with anyone. Now they meet in the first international friendly match at the new park. Tickets start at $35.

Cal Vs. Oregon - October 24th
The first ever college football game at Levi's could be a memorable one if the Golden Bears can pull off an upset of one of college football's best programs (and Stanford's top challenger for the North Division title). At least Cal and Stanford fans will likely be rooting for the same team for once.  Tickets Start At $100.

Pac-12 Championship Game - December 5th
For the next three years, Levi's Stadium will play host to the battle of the Pac-12s best. The North Division and South Division winners will meet here, with a trip to the Rose Bowl or Championship Playoff on the line. The "neutral site" could prove a big advantage for Stanford or Cal, if they can earn a bus ride to the game. Tickets start at $85.

San Francisco Bowl - December 30th
The Bay Area's annual bowl game will move south from AT&T Park this year and drop the "Fight Hunger Bowl" name. The new name hasn't been selected yet, but San Francisco Bowl is a decent working title. The bowl game is expected to match a Pac-12 program with a foe from the Big Ten. Tickets start at $65.

NHL Outdoor Stadium Series - February 21st
The NHL's hit new tradition of lacing up the skates outdoors makes its first stop in the Bay Area after thrilling fans at Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium and other major venues. Fresh off a thrilling (some say crushing) playoff series, the San Jose Sharks and rival Kings will do battle under the lights at Levi's Stadium. Ticket info not yet available.

WrestleMania 31 - March 29th - March 29th
One of the first big events to sign on at Levi's also promises to be one of the biggest spectacles. The WWE will put all NFL end zone celebrations to shame when WrestleMania pulls into town. Ticket info not yet available.

Motorhead Shows  - April 11th, 18th
Monster Jam will be rolling through Santa Clara in the near future, and bringing Gravedigger, El Toro Loco and the other the other roaring motors from the hot rod circuit.  Tickets start at $20.

Supercross Series - April 18th
The floor of Levi's will still be full of dirt a week later when the Monster Energy Supercross series comes to town, bringing more fun for motorheads. Tickets start at $20.

Super Bowl 50 - February 2016
This one could actually include the Niners (or the Raiders for that matter). The 50th anniversary of the biggest single day event in American still makes our list because it's sure to be the stadium's pinnacle of international visibility. Organizers still have about a year and a half to get everything perfect for the massive TV audience.
