Big Rig Catches Fire In Fairfield, Temporarily Blocks Four Lanes On East I-80
FAIRFIELD (KCBS)— A fully-loaded big-rig truck crashed into the curb and caught fire on eastbound Interstate 80 and Travis Boulevard in Fairfield Monday afternoon when the driver lost control.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. The fire spread to nearby vegetation and caused all four lanes of traffic to be temporarily blocked. The fire was quickly put out.
KCBS traffic is reporting the left two lanes have now re-opened, but traffic is backed up to Highway 12 east by the Cordelia truck scales.
