Before Wrestlemania 31 Main Event At Levi's Stadium, Brock Lesnar Signs New Deal With WWE

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) – With Wrestlemania 31 just days away, one of the biggest stars in World Wrestling Entertainment has re-upped with the company.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, who will face Roman Reigns in the main event Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, announced during an interview on ESPN's Sportcenter on Tuesday that he has re-signed with WWE, closing the door on a possible return to mixed martial arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Lesnar has long been rumored to be returning to the UFC, where he took the sport by storm in October of 2007, eventually becoming the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

"The older you get, the wiser you become. I didn't want to be that guy that retired and came back," Lesnar told ESPN. "This just wasn't an overnight decision. It's been a long, heartfelt decision. You weigh out the pros, you weigh out the cons. At the end of the day, last night, ol' Vince McMahon put the offer on the table that I couldn't refuse."

Lesnar said he loves being in the squared circle, but a lot of the outside aspects of the job, like extensive travel, have taken a toll on the 37-year-old.

His last appearance in the UFC was back in December 2011, when he lost to Alistair Overeem via knockout in the first round at UFC 141.

Lesnar originally signed with WWE [then the World Wrestling Federation] in 2000, before leaving for the UFC.  He returned after an 8-year hiatus in April 2012 and has headlined numerous pay-per-view events since then.
