Bay Area's Warmest Conditions In Almost 6 Months To Peak On Tuesday
SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- After parts of the Bay Area experienced their warmest day in almost six months, expect the warming trend to peak on Tuesday before conditions return to springtime averages.
On Monday, high temperatures reached the 80s in much of the Bay Area. Pacifica reached a high of 80, Foster City had a high of 83, Saratoga had a high of 87 and Pittsburg recorded a high of 86.
Santa Rosa had a high of 84 degrees on Monday, the warmest day recorded there since October 19th.
KPIX 5 meteorologist Paul Deanno said the warmth is linked to a strong ridge of high pressure over the Bay Area, which is expected to be its strongest on Tuesday. The high pressure should move south on Wednesday, leading to the return of the onshore flow and cooler temperatures.
After overnight lows in the 40s and 50s, Deanno said Tuesday's temperatures are forecast to be 10-18 degrees above average for early April. Expect high temperatures in the 80s throughout the Bay Area, except for the immediate coast.
While temperatures are unseasonably warm, record temperatures for April are usually in the 90s.
