Bay Area Football Legends To Handle Super Bowl Coin Toss
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- What two things do Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Fred Biletnikoff, Jim Plunkett, Jerry Rice and Steve Young have in common?
They all have been Super Bowl MVPs and they all will take part in the coin toss for Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.
The NFL announced Thursday that all six will be on the field and that Montana -- the only multiple MVP winner -- will actually flip the coin.
According to the oddsmakers in Las Vegas, it is a 50/50 wager as to whether the coin will be a heads or a tails.
The flip has landed on tails in each of the last two Super Bowl games, breaking up a stretch of five straight where it was heads.
Interestingly enough, the NFC champion has completely dominated the coin toss recently winning the toss 16 times in the last 18 years.
