BART Investigated Over Ad Featuring Draymond Green
The East Bay Times reports, the Fair Political Practices Commission is investigating the allegations. Normal investigations take six months to a year to complete.
A Lafayette attorney and political blogger filed an initial complaint in late October, alleging the transit agency violated state law by holding a news conference and deciding to place the bond measure on the November ballot. He followed up with a supplemental complaint that Green's script in a video posted on BART's website lifted phrases often used by BART and supporters campaigning for the bond.
State law prohibits public agencies from spending money to support or oppose any candidate or measure. BART has said the video involving Green was done by the Warriors, and the agency paid no money for it.
