Partially derailed train stops BART service between Antioch, Pittsburg/Bay Point stations
BART service between the Antioch and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations was stopped in all directions during the morning commute Wednesday because of a derailed train, transit officials said.
In an advisory around 4:45 a.m., BART asked travelers to use alternative transportation after an out-of-service train leaving the yard partially derailed. No one was hurt in what BART was calling a "minor derailment."
The derailment shut down service to the Pittsburg/Bay Point, Pittsburg Center, and Antioch stations.
Tri Delta provided a bus bridge for passengers. BART said parallel bus service was also provided on Tri Delta bus 390 servicing all three stations.
Normal train service resumed at about 10 a.m., according to a BART spokesperson.
