Old-School Bank Robber Hits 2 SF Chinatown Banks Thursday Afternoon

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating two Thursday bank robberies in San Francisco's Chinatown.

The robberies occurred within minutes of each other at banks in the 700 and 900 blocks of Washington Street.

The first robbery occurred at 1:30 p.m., and the second occurred at 1:39 p.m.

Police said the suspect in both robberies was a man in his 50s.

In both robberies, the suspect handed the bank teller a note demanding money and fled the area on foot.

Police said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash during both robberies.

There were no reported injuries during the robberies.
