Avaya Stadium is the new home of the San Jose Earthquakes, debuting for the 2015 Major League Soccer season. The stadium was modeled on European club stadiums and is one of the most technologically-advanced and the first cloud-enabled venue in MLS.

With a capacity of approximately 18,000, Avaya Stadium features a canopy roof, the steepest-raked seating in the league, and houses the largest outdoor bar in North America. The stadium is part of a planned mixed-use development at the Coleman Ave. site next to Mineta San Jose International Airport, which will include office space, hotel and retail. The city of San Jose will also build a youth and adult soccer complex next to the stadium.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony February 27, 2015, Avaya Stadium's first event is a preseason game between the Earthquakes and the Los Angeles Galaxy on February 28. The event serves as a soft open ahead of the inaugural regular season game, scheduled for March 22 against the Chicago Fire.
GETTING THERE
Public Transit
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority - VTA #10 Free Airport Flyer has drop off points at the stadium and parking lots. VTA #231 downtown San Jose shuttle (regular fare) runs two hours before and one hour after each game.
CalTrain - Get off at Santa Clara station, then take VTA #10 Free Airport Flyer directly to the stadium.
Altamont Commuter Express Rail - Take ACE to Santa Clara station, then take VTA #10 Free Airport Flyer directly to the stadium.
Amtrak Capitol Corridor - Get off at Santa Clara-University station, then take VTA #10 Free Airport Flyer directly to the stadium.
Bay Area Rapid Transit - Take BART to Millbrae station, transfer to Caltrain southbound to San Jose and get off at Santa Clara station. Then take VTA #10 Free Airport Flyer directly to the stadium.
Driving
Avaya Stadium is located at 1123 Coleman Ave, San Jose just west of Mineta San Jose International Airport, and accessed by Interstate Highway 880, U.S. Highway 101 State Highway 87.
From Interstate 880 - Northbound or southbound, exit at Coleman Ave/Mineta SJ Airport, turn right on Coleman Ave to stadium.
From U.S. 101 - Northbound take Trimble Rd./De La Cruz Blvd. exit. Southbound take De La Cruz Blvd. exit. Merge onto W Trimble Rd. to continue onto De La Cruz Blvd. Then take slight left onto Coleman Ave. to stadium.
From Highway 87 - For timeliest route, merge onto Highway 101 northbound, take Trimble Rd./De La Cruz Blvd. exit, continue onto De La Cruz Blvd. then slight left onto Coleman Ave. to stadium
PARKING / PREGAME
Parking is only permitted in the Avaya Stadium parking lots. Parking in surrounding lots is prohibited and violators will be towed. Parking fee ranges from $25 to $40, depending on lot proximity to stadium.
Tailgating is permitted in all parking lots except the VIP parking lot, limited to the space directly in front of or behind vehicle. No reserving of parking spaces for the purpose of tailgaiting.
TICKETS
Tickets for the Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium are in high demand, with more than 11,000 season tickets already sold for the 2015 season. A 20-game season ticket package starts at $300. Individual tickets still available range from $20 to $130. Groups of 10 or more can receive discounted pricing and additional benefits. More at sjearthquakes.com/tickets.

LARGEST OUTDOOR BAR
Certainly one of the most prominent features of the stadium is the north side bar under the scoreboard, which the Earthquakes say is the largest outdoor bar in North America. It is 3,647 square feet and is a full-service bar with over 45 beer taps and field-level views of the pitch. Here is a preview from KPIX 5 reporter Len Ramirez.
