A's Split Squad Rallies In 9th, Defeats Brewers In Cactus League

PHOENIX (CBS / AP) -- Wily Peralta gave up one hit in three scoreless innings in his first spring start, but Luke Montz hit a two-run homer in a three-run ninth to rally an Oakland Athletics' split-squad to a 6-4 victory Tuesday over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Peralta allowed a one-out double to Michael Taylor in the third inning, walked one and struck out three in his second appearance of training camp. Peralta was 11-15 in 32 starts in his first full season with Milwaukee last year.

Milwaukee tagged Oakland starter Dan Straily for two runs in the second and another in the third.

Montz's home run came off right-hander Johnny Helweg, who also gave up Max Muncy's tying hit.
