Antique Firearms Discovered In Garage During Probation Arrest Of 2 Santa Rosa Felons
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Santa Rosa police arrested a Santa Rosa couple Thursday for being felons in possession of a weapon after police found a handgun and ammunition in a garage that also contained two antique rifles, a police sergeant said.
Police found Jennifer Elaine Griffin, 35, and Brandon Jo Rhoades, 36, trying to hide in the garage in the 2400 block of McBride Lane in Santa Rosa during a probation search around 6:20 p.m., Sgt. John Cregan said.
Police also found two black powder rifles with unique designs engraved into them in the garage unit, Cregan said. The rifles appear to be valuable antiques that detectives believe had been stolen, Cregan said.
Griffin and Rhoades were convicted felons and prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, and both were on probation, Cregan said.
Griffin also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest, Cregan said.
Anyone with information about the antique firearms is asked to call police at (707) 543-3670.
