Antioch police investigating drive-by shooting that caused crash

Antioch neighborhood dealing with gun violence meets with incoming mayor

Antioch police said a driver crashed after being the target of a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning.

Just before 11:30 p.m., police were notified of a shooting and a car crash near Dutch Pride Gas and Food service station, on the 500 block of East 18th Street.

According to police, the driver of a silver sedan was going eastbound from the gas station when a dark-colored sedan headed westbound shot at them.

The silver sedan then crashed into cars in a parking lot. Police said a man and woman were seen getting out and fleeing in different directions.

The man was reportedly seen carrying a gun, running northwest. Police said they were unable to find the man or woman.

They were also not able to find the dark-colored sedan or the shooter.
