Kidnapped San Francisco Child Found Safe; Suspects In Custody
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A 2-year-old girl abducted while walking with her mother on a San Francisco street Saturday has been found safe and her suspected abductors were in custody, authorities said.
Sgt. Michael Andraychak said that at approximately 9:44 p.m. the SFPD was notified that the suspects were in custody outside of San Francisco County and that little Jalanie Fortson had been located and was safe. The state-wide Amber Alert issued for her was cancelled.
Authorities said San Francisco Police officers from Northern Station responded to Golden Gate and Webster regarding a parental abduction at around 3 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the child's mother had been assaulted and the child had been abducted. The child's mother was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a statewide Amber Alert was issued for the child's father -- 21-year-old Javonn Fortson and two others -- 22-year-old Lipine Faafiu and an unidentified female.
Javonn Fortson and Faafiu were considered armed and dangerous.
All three were in custody. No other details were reported.
