Amazon Likes Uber's Model

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Amazon is borrowing from Uber's playbook, hiring part-time delivery drivers who can deliver as much as they want to, when they want.

Amazon launched the Flex driver deliver network in its hometown of Seattle, with the promise of expansion to other major cities in the near future.

Initially the service will be limited to Amazon's Prime Now rapid delivery service for orders delivered within one or two hours, although that could expand to other packages down the road.

Amazon is offering drivers $18-$25-dollars an hour. Requirements include being 21 years old, your own car, a smartphone, and passing a background check.
