Airport Officials Meant To Detain Metallica, Not Red Hot Chili Peppers

(RADIO.COM) – Both bands are hugely popular, have undeniable groove and sometimes inscrutable lyrics, but there's no way anyone could mistake the Red Hot Chili Peppers for Metallica — aside from airport customs officials in Belarus.
When the Chili Peppers arrived at Belarus airport, a stopover between concerts in Kiev, Ukraine and Moscow, Russia, they were called into the custom's office. The situation became even more surreal when officers began handing the musicians Metallica photos and CDs to sign.
"We tried to explain to them that we weren't Metallica, bassist Flea wrote on Instagram. "But they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with [fire] with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I'm no Robert Trujillo."
Not wanting to instigate the ire of the people with "the power," The Chili Peppers did as they were asked and had someone from their entourage take photos.
