Suspect In Active Shooter Situation At Texas Walmart Shot Dead

AMARILLO, Texas (CBS DFW) -- A suspect in an active shooter and hostage situation at a Walmart store in Amarillo, Texas has been shot dead, according to a city official.

No other injuries or casualties were reported.

Captain Davis of the Amarillo fire department confirmed to CBS affiliate KFDA that the shooter was dead. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released. According to reports the suspect was shot by the Amarillo SWAT team.
