$99 Flights To Europe? WOW Offers No-Frills Flights In Time For Spring
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- It will soon be cheaper to fly from the U.S. to Europe than most domestic destinations.
Starting May 8, Icelandic airline WOW is going to offer nonstop service between Washington and Reykjavik's Keflavic Airport with fares that start at just $99. That's right. You probably couldn't drive from San Francisco to L.A. and back in an SUV for that price.
It's the latest deal in no-frills, low-cost air travel. Passengers willing to forego legroom, movies, food, and baggage can travel for less…much less.
On U.S. routes WOW introduces the Airbus A321. It's longer than an Airbus 320. Passengers can purchase upgrades for roomier seats with more legroom and extra luggage allowances.
Bottom line, you can pay as much or as little as you want. Even with the add-ons, WOW's fares beat its competitors.
So, what if you don't want to go to Reykjavik? WOW air offers a transfer option. For an additional $80 you can fly from Reykjavic to London, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam or Rome.
Flights are offered 5 days a week. WOW offers flights out of Boston's Logan Airport, as well.
