7 California Liberals React To Gay Marriage Becoming Law Of Land
(CBS SF) -- The Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the Constitution gives same-sex couples across the county an equal right to marry.
The court's 5-4 ruling means the remaining 14 states, in the South and Midwest, will have to stop enforcing their bans on same-sex marriage.
Gay rights supporters cheered, danced and wept outside the court when the decision was announced. Here in California, liberal politicians took to Twitter to celebrate the momentous news:
GAVIN NEWSOM: The day has finally come when loving couples can get married regardless of their sexual orientation. Thank you to the five justices.
