4 Arrests Made In Santa Rosa Compliance Sweep
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Four arrests were made during a multi-agency compliance sweep targeting high-risk felony offenders and subjects on post release community supervision in Santa Rosa on Friday, police said.
The operation was conducted in the city of Santa Rosa on Friday, with officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department, Rohert Park Department of Public Safety, Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and Sonoma County Probation department, police said.
The multi-agency team contacted 15 offenders, conducting 32 searches and four individuals were taken into custody. One person was cited for a violation and officers forwarded two complaint reviews to the district attorney's office.
Since the state began housing many prisoners in local jails to ease overcrowding in the state prison system, the Board of State and Community Corrections has been providing funding to Sonoma County to help address the impacts of crime, police said.
That funding is being used to address gaps in the criminal justice system, focusing on individuals on high-risk, habitual felony offenders and persons Post Release Community Supervision, according to police.
Risk assessments will be conducted by the Sonoma County Probation Department to form a list of offenders who will be subject to the operations paid for using these particular state funds, police said.
