4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Coast Of Northern California Near Ferndale
FERNDALE, Calif. (CBS SF) -- The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 off the coast of northern California.
The USGS says the quake was centered in the Pacific Ocean, about 25 miles southwest of Ferndale, California, and struck at about 2:44 a.m. PST Wednesday.
Ferndale is located just over 100 miles south of the Oregon state line and about 275 miles northwest of Sacramento.
A couple people on the USGS website reported feeling weak to light shaking.
A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck in the same area on Jan. 1.
