Antioch Police Discover Pot Grow After Responding To Burglary

ANTIOCH (BCN) — Police uncovered a large marijuana grow operation while responding to a burglary in Antioch on Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 4500 block of Horseshoe Circle around 7:40 p.m., police said.

Arriving officers found several people fleeing from a home and apprehended one of them, who was found with a backpack filled with marijuana, according to police.

A large-scale marijuana grow operation was found during a security sweep of the home where the burglary was reported, police said.

Investigators seized about 530 marijuana plants and marijuana cultivation equipment from the home, according to police.
