Suspect Arrested After 3 Sexual Battery Incidents Reported At San Jose State

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police at San Jose State University are investigating three sexual battery cases that occurred within a week of each other and one suspect was taken into custody Thursday evening.

The most recent case happened around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday involving a male suspect and female victim who was on the second floor landing at Duncan Hall's northeast stairwell, campus police said.

The suspect, who ran away up the stairs, was described as a man in his 20s with black spiky hair. He wore a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and had a navy blue backpack, according to police.

The second case happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday when the suspect trailed the female victim as she went from the Ninth Street Plaza to the student union, police said.

The victim confronted the suspect, who fled on a white skateboard with red stripes at the Seventh Street Plaza heading north toward San Fernando Street, police said.

The suspect in Monday's case was described as an Asian man in his 20s in a neon green hooded sweatshirt, black and blue jacket and black backpack, according to police. Investigators have released two photos of him seen walking through a door at the student union.

On Nov. 30 around 2:30 p.m., a man sexually battered a female victim at Sweeney Hall between the second and third floors before he fled upstairs, police said.

The suspect in the third case was described as a man in his 20s with a mustache seen wearing dark clothing and a black backpack, according to police.
