3 Arrested On Marijuana, Gun Charges During Fairfield Traffic Stop

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Three people were arrested Saturday evening in Fairfield on suspicion of selling marijuana and illegally possessing a gun, police said Sunday.

At about 7:30 p.m. two officers walked up to a suspicious vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Beaufort Drive. Police said inside were three people who allegedly had several mason jars containing marijuana.

The officers said they smelled marijuana when they walked up the vehicle and they asked the driver to step out. As the driver got out, he allegedly tried to get away from officers.

But 23-year-old Suisun City resident Kenny Reed was taken into custody.

Police said they found evidence of marijuana sales inside the vehicle as well as a loaded 9mm handgun under the driver's seat.

Police also arrested two passengers identified as 23-year-old Vallejo resident Jordan Scott and 22-year-old Fairfield resident Latrail White.

All three were arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and possessing a loaded and concealed gun.

Reed was also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and Scott for violating his probation.
