3 Armed Men Invade Portola Valley Home, Hold Residents Hostage

PORTOLA VALLEY (CBS SF) -- Three armed male suspects allegedly forced their way into a Portola Valley home Thursday night, taking valuables while they held the home's residents inside a bedroom, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's officials.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a home invasion robbery at a home on Valencia Court, sheriff's officials said.

A resident at the home told deputies he was standing on his front porch when three males, each one armed with a handgun, forced their way into the home.

Once inside, the suspects forced the home's residents, a couple in their 50s and girl, into a bedroom. The suspects then ransacked the home, taking jewelry and electronics, according to sheriff's officials.

The suspects then fled the scene in a white sedan, sheriff's officials said.

Deputies searched the area for the suspects but were unsuccessful.

The male resident was treated for a minor injury at the scene, according to sheriff's officials.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact Detective Any Hui at (650) 363-4062 or ahui@smcgov.org. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call (800) 547-2700.
