2.8 Magnitude Quake Recorded Near Gilroy, Morgan Hill
SANTA CLARA CO. (CBS SF) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.8 was recorded near Gilroy Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was reported at 10:28 a.m. and was located 4 miles west-southwest of Gilroy and 10 miles south of Morgan Hill, USGS officials said.
The temblor had a depth of 4.9 miles, according to the USGS.
