2.7-Magnitude Quake Rattles The Geyers Near Middletown
MIDDLETOWN (CBS SF) -- The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 2.7-magnitude earthquake Thursday morning in The Geyers.
The tremor was recorded at 7:18 a.m. about 12 miles northwest of Middletown at a depth of .65 miles, according to the USGS.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the earthquake.
Whole blocks of houses were burned in parts of Middletown in a fire that started Saturday afternoon in Lake County, spread to Napa County and had burned 61,000 acres by Sunday evening. It was just 5 percent contained as of Monday morning.
