13-Year-Old Singing Phenom Quintavious Johnson Delights Fans At SF Union Square Tree Lighting
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Fresh from thrilling the crowd with a powerful rendition of the national anthem at the Thanksgiving Day Bears v. Lions game, Quintavious Johnson has become a singing sensation.
On Friday evening, the phenom from Franklin, Tennessee, who just turned 13, warmed up the crowd gathered in San Francisco's Union Square for the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.
His mother, Yolanda, says Quintavious has always sung and began performing at the tender age of two in their church.
These days, Yolanda home-schools 7-grader Quintavious between gigs -- which, in the coming year, include appearances around the U.S., Canada and in the Bahamas.
Quintavious Johnson was a finalist on the ninth season of NBC's America's Got Talent.
