11-Year-Old Antioch Boy Shot In Chest
ANTIOCH (CBS SF) -- An 11-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot in the chest in Antioch Thursday morning.
The shooting was reported around 11:15 a.m. at a home near the intersection of I and West Eighth streets, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said.
The boy was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento in stable condition and is expected to survive, fire Capt. Kent Kirby said.
The fire captain said he did not know whether the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or if someone else shot the boy.
Antioch police were not immediately available for comment.
