Update: Evacuations lifted for Armsby Fire west of Morgan Hill
MORGAN HILL -- Mandatory evacuations were lifted in the Armsby Fire on Friday evening, hours after the vegetation fire broke out in an unincorporated area west of Morgan Hill.
The fire was originally reported along Armsby Lane, just east of Uvas Reservoir.
People along Armsby Rd to Sycamore Ave, Hardy Lane, and Tohara Way were ordered to evacuate.
An evacuation center was set up at the Morgan Hill Community Center at 17000 Monterey Rd.

Armsby Fire evacuations lifted as containment grows
Cal Fire announced Friday evening that evacuation orders have been lifted as firefighters have gained control. As of about 6:40 p.m., the fire was being held to five acres and containment has reached 30%.

Firefighters also said that crews would remain on the scene through the night.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol said roadways near the fire have been reopened. Drivers are still being urged to remain careful as crews will still be in the area for at least the next day or so.
All roadways in the area of the Armsby Lane fire have been open. Please be careful in the area as fire personnel will remain on scene with their equipment for the next 24 hours at minimum.

Cal Fire: Armsby Fire progress stopped at 5 acres
Cal Fire said the forward progress on the Armsby Fire west of Morgan Hill was stopped at 5 acres. The fire was 10% contained as of 3:00 p.m. and firefighters were continuing to strengthen containment lines.

Armsby Fire burns at least 5 acres; 10% contained
Cal Fire said firefighters were holding the Armsby Fire west of Morgan Hill at five acres. It was first reported at about 1:15 p.m. and was about 10% contained
The fire was burning heavy fuel in steep terrain, forcing about 20 houses to be evacuated Cal Fire said.
At least 20 engines, four crews, two bulldozers were working the fire, along with helicopters and fixed wing aircraft,
