Man, 72, dies after being struck by vehicle in Yuba City

YUBA CITY – A 72-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in Yuba City on Monday night.

Yuba City police say, just after 8 p.m., officers responded near Bridge and Plumas streets to investigate a reported crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

At the scene, first responders found that a man had been struck and was suffering from critical injuries.

The man was rushed to the hospital, but police say he later died.

Police say the driver, a 22-year-old man, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Officers noted they don't believe impairment was a factor in the incident.

The name of the man who died has not yet been released.
