Woman Violently Robbed In Dixon

DIXON (CBS13) – Police are asking Dixon residents to be extra vigilant after a woman was attacked and robbed this week.

The incident happened a little before 10:30 p.m. Monday near Stratford Avenue and Weyand Way.

Dixon Police Lieutenant Tom Cordova says that a woman was walking along the sidewalk when a car pulled up and stopped next to her. One of the men inside the car got out, walked up to the woman and attacked her. The man then pulled out a handgun, pointed it at her and stole the woman's purse.

The man eventually got back in the car and drove off, with the car last being seen heading west along Pitt School Road.

Police say the car was a grey, newer-model sedan. One of the suspects was described a young man with braided hair that covered most of his face.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspects is asked to call the Dixon Police Department at (707) 678-7070.
