Woman Killed In El Camino Avenue Hit-And-Run Identified, Driver Arrested

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police have arrested a woman in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash in Sacramento.

Investigators say a driver hit a woman on a bike along El Camino Avenue near Business 80 Monday night then took off.

Paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital where she later died. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified her as 45-year-old Brandi Leigh Weaver.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old woman shortly after the crash thanks to witnesses who were able to write down the suspect car's plate. She has been identified as Ashley Mauling.

Mauling is facing felony DUI charges. She is also facing a charge of child endangerment, police say, after officers found a child inside her car at the time of her arrest.
