Woman Dragged After Jumping From Stolen Truck In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a 30-year-old California woman was dragged beneath a truck and killed as she and a Las Vegas man jumped from the stolen vehicle when a police car pulled behind them.

Las Vegas police Sgt. Richard Strader told reporters the driver kept going before he also jumped out, and the truck rolled into a parking lot wall at a nearby apartment complex a little after 7 a.m. Friday.

Both men were arrested. The name of the dead woman wasn't immediately released.

Strader says the owner of the Ford F-450 work truck called 911 when the three people hopped in and drove away in northeast Las Vegas.

Strader says a patrol officer saw the truck swerving through traffic, but didn't chase it, before the woman and male passenger jumped out.
