Who's Hot This Week: April 9, 2015
It's been a huge week in sports - Major League Baseball opened up this week, the NBA season is winding down, and even hockey is gearing toward its postseason Here is a look at some things that have been thrust into the spotlight over the last week as a result of outstanding performance.
1. Adrian Gonzalez, Los Angeles Dodgers
Nobody has started the year hotter than the Dodgers' first baseman - in his first three games, he has hit five home runs, including three last night. He's hitting .769 to start this season, which, you know, would be some kind of record or something.
2. San Antonio Spurs
According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Spurs have gone 19-3 since the end of February (best in the league) and have won nine straight. Most importantly, they control the sixth seed in the Western Conference but have just a half game between them and the number two seed.
3. Scott Kazmir, Oakland A's
The A's, as a team, have started off the year winning two of three over the Texas Rangers in convincing fashion, though none as convincing as Wednesday night's 10-0 thrashing at the Coliseum. Kazmir's dominant performance set the tone, going seven shutout innings and giving up just one hit with ten strikeouts.
