West Sacramento man sentenced for killing another man with sword in dispute over woman
WEST SACRAMENTO — A West Sacramento man was recently sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for stabbing and killing another man with a sword in 2022, prosecutors said Friday.
Jeffrey Lee, 39, was sentenced on October 4, 2024, the Yolo County District Attorney's Office said. Lee was previously convicted of the second-degree murder of West Sacramento resident Jack Knox, 28, which happened on April 5, 2022.
Lee stabbed Knox in his heart following a confrontation over concerns he had with Knox dating Lee's ex-girlfriend, the district attorney's office said.
Lee was identified as a suspect through surveillance footage from businesses in the area where the stabbing occurred.
The murder weapon — a short, bladed sword — was found by investigators after Lee directed them to its location along the Sacramento River.
