CHP: Driver Rescued From River After Falling Asleep At Wheel

PLACERVILLE (CBS13) — A driver is recovering Wednesday after crashing into the river off of Highway 50 near Randall Tract.
CHP Placerville responded to the crash to recover the SUV and travel trailer that went into the river.
Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported. CHP officers said the driver claimed to have fallen asleep.
One-way traffic controls were in effect on the freeway, but the roadway reopened after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
